Sometimes I Forget

Sometimes I get so caught up in normalcy with God that I forget why I love Him. Although I have many reasons to love a God as good as ours, only one reason stands head and shoulders above the rest: the cross.

The cross is not something normal. It is not a piece of jewelry or an ancient form of execution. The cross is the place where the Son of God decided that my life was worth enough to Him to give up His own for it. Jesus had no reason to look twice at someone like me. For some reason, though, He did, and I am glad He did.

The most important outcome of the cross is not death but life. Permanent life. Because of the cross, I can live life to the fullest, and the One who died for me is now my Friend, my Father, and my Lover. That's why I love the cross.
